Instructions for Celebrating Public Masses

Bishop Boyea is permitting parishes in the Diocese of Lansing to begin the public celebration of Mass on Friday, May 29, 2020. He is also allowing the celebration of daily Masses with a limited number of participants until that time, but not to exceed 5% of the seating capacity of the church building. The following are the guidelines for Holy Rosary and St. Mary’s as we gradually return to full participation of our Sunday and daily liturgies.

  1. Please do not come to Mass if you are sick, or are suffering from any physical symptoms that could be related to the Covid-19 virus; fever, chills, loss of smell, cough, trouble breathing, nausea, muscle aches and pains. Consult the CDC website for other common symptoms.
  2. The Dispensation from the Sunday obligation will continue through July 31, 2020. If you are elderly and/or have an underlying medical condition and are considered part of the population most vulnerable to complications if infected, please do not attend Mass.  By virtue of charity you have been excused.
  3. Everyone must wear a mask at Church. If you forget your mask we will have some available.
  4. You may sit in the designated pews and will be expected to practice social distancing; sitting 6 feet apart from non-family members.
  5. Holy Communion will be distributed in the hand of the communicant by the priest or extraordinary minister.
  6. You are encouraged to bring sanitizing wipes to clean the area that you and/or your family will occupy during Mass.
  7. The Sign of Peace will be omitted until further notice.
  8. If the attendance at any particular Mass exceeds 25% of the Church capacity you may be turned away and asked to attend another scheduled Mass.

The Mass schedule will be as follows:

Saturday 6:00 P.M.

Sunday 9:00 A.M.

Saturday at St. Mary’s Mount Morris 4:00 P.M.

Sunday at St. Mary’s Mount Morris 7:30 A.M. and 11:00 A.M.

The daily Mass schedule for June:

Holy Rosary — Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at 8:30AM

St. Mary’s – Wednesday and Thursday at 8:30AM

NO WEEKDAY EVENING MASSES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

No Holy Hour in June; the hope is to start up again in July.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
